The following eight pendants represent a collection I've been creating for over a year!! Finally, I fired the batch on January 24th 2010. This is big news! I hope to report and post here often as I feel the glass calling me to create. Meanwhile, I wanted to post some "before" pictures so that you would have the image of what my work looks like before they are fired. Each pendant could consist of at least 3 or more layers of glass with each layer composed of pieces lending to a specific effect. I like to begin with opaque glass as a foundation. Adding layers of translucent, irridescent and dichroic glass over an opaque quality creates a rich blend of color and texture. Each pendant is its own tiny mosaic permanently fused under a layer of clear glass. Embedded in some pendants you can see copper wire, dust, mesh and shapes in thin gauge sheeting. I also like to paint dots and streaks of gold and copper colored mica dust for an extra fancy effect.

Scroll down to view the eight fired pendants. I have beaded 3 pendants thus far and will post them as I feel the urge to bead the remaining few.

Currently, I'm working on a wall hanging with lots of curvy tight fitting pieces....stay tuned!!
